Hey Cox Parents, What a phenomenal job our Cox students have been doing so far! Thank you again for your terrific support of the PTA and the many programs it provides for the students at Cox.

FUNDRAISER GOAL: We are working towards raising funds to build a shade covering for the Cox playground, but we have a ways to go to get to that financial goal of raising $13,000. Remember, all pledges are tax-deductible! And what better way to make a donation than to make one supporting our school! Cox PTA selected the Boosterthon Fun Run as one of our major fundraisers as an alternative to selling items that many of us don’t need or want. Our students are able to participate in a fun and positive program that encourages them and promotes values. We need your help with making this choice a success!

Remember to input your pledges at www.funrun.com! Each child came home with an access code and pledge packet on Monday, May 7th. If you can not find your access code, please contact Kim Mallinger at kmallinger@austin.rr.com and we can assign your student a new one.

The Fun Run is Wednesday, May 16th, make plans to come out and cheer on our incredible Cox students!

We are privileged to partner with the Boosterthon Fun Run Company, as they are making a positive difference here at Cox, and the values this program promotes will stay with our students long after the fundraiser is complete. The Boosterthon fundraiser involves EVERY student in a fun fitness event, teaches character values and is a tremendous community builder for our school. The theme this year is EPIC Adventure, and it's all about TEAMWORK!

Again, Cox PTA benefits EVERY child at Cox Elementary! Team up with us to help make one of our major fundraisers of the year a success! The Leander ISD community is invited to attend the district’s anti-bullying mini-conference on Thursday, May 10, at Deer Creek Elementary, from 6 – 9 p.m.

The mini-conference is designed to foster dialogue among parents, students and district staff regarding bullying and prevention issues. The event will feature a keynote speaker and three rotations where participants will have the opportunity to learn more about anti-bullying strategies currently in place at LISD campuses; general bullying prevention strategies and awareness issues, with an emphasis on educating parents; and discuss how the district can improve its programs to foster a sustainable change on a campus’ culture. Feedback from this session will be incorporated into the district’s anti-bullying programs and initiatives.

The backpack program is a program that provides meals for students in need throughout LISD. We need your help. Please consider donating some of the items on the list provided. This is a very worthy cause. Thank you so much for your donations.

Due to projected enrollment size for the 2012-2013 school year, this campus has been closed to new transfers, except for siblings of students who currently attend and who will attend next year. Please be aware that if your student is not zoned to this campus or does not already attend this campus on an approved transfer, this campus is closed and will not be accepting any NEW transfer requests for the following school year, 2012-2013.
