International Culture Fair
Click here to fill out the volunteer form.
We are asking for your help with our International Culture Fair here at Cox Elementary on Friday, January 31, 2014. Cox is a very diverse campus. The teachers promote an understanding and awareness about the unique strengths from student’s different languages, customs, holidays, traditions, etc. It is difficult, though, when knowledge and resources are limited. That is why we need your help.
We want the students at Cox to learn about languages, costumes, music, dances, arts and crafts, food, customs, etc. from your native country and/or culture. We need you to teach us about your heritage so that we at Cox can embrace your culture with more knowledge, depth, and understanding. This is an incredible chance to break down barriers, unite us as community, and have fun learning about each other.
We need people who can teach the students about a country or a culture. We also want the students to hear music, see clothing, toys, games, dances, or pictures of your culture; basically anything that would be of interest to K-5th graders. If you can help, please fill out the form on the link below. Or you can call Julie Wilhite or Jose Rodriquez at (512) 570-6000 EXT. 46054 or via e-mail: email@example.com Jose.Rodriquez@leanderisd.org
If you cannot help, please let us know if you know of anyone else in your community (i.e. friends, family, or worship community, etc. by submitting the information in the form below). You are the best source of information on your unique heritage and this would be an excellent time to share it with the Cox community. Please complete and return the form that is attached to this email.

The district’s online tool, txConnect, allows LISD parents to easily monitor their child’s achievement throughout the school year. LISD parents can use txConnect to access their child’s grades and assignments, view and print their child’s interim progress reports and report cards, view their child’s STAAR (or TAKS) results, immunizations, attendance and student discipline reports. Connecting to your child’s learning through txConnect is a simple, two-step process.

Progress Reports and Report Cards Now Available in Electronic Format
Parents of elementary students in third, fourth and fifth grades have the option to view and print their child(ren)’s interim progress reports and report cards by using txConnect, rather than receiving paper copies in their student’s Wednesday folder. To receive electronic grade reports, parents must follow two steps. First, parents will need to set up or login to their txConnect account, and second, register to receive these reports by following the instructions (also available at www.leanderisd.org
and on your child’s campus website). If parents select this option, parents will be notified by email as soon as the interim progress reports and report cards are available in txConnect. These reports will be replaced every grading period when new reports are produced. The grade reports on txConnect will look identical to those that are sent home. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your campus registrar, Chelsea Pacheco at 512.570.6015 or firstname.lastname@example.org
