Second Step Newsletter

College & Career Week
A week to emphasis higher education for career choices. Cox Elementary Comets educational pathway to their future includes Henry Middle School and Vista Ridge High School. We want EDUCATION to continue after graduating from High School. There are many opportunities available to everyone through college, vocational schools, or military training. This week’s themes relate to our pathway to success from elementary school to middle school to graduating from high school and on to higher learning for a career.

The Giving Tree through Hill Country Christmas Bureau is up outside the library and ready for tags to be taken off the tree. On the tags, the due date for the donated gifts to be returned to the front office is Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018. HCCB will be picking up the items on Friday, December 7, 2018.

Saving and Paying for College, FAFSA Assistance
It is never too early to begin planning for the expense of post-secondary education. According to College For All Texans, the average cost to attend a public university in Texas is $24,123. Parents of students of all ages are invited to attend the Leander ISD Saving and Paying for College Information Session and FAFSA Assistance Night.
